Completely handcrafted:
We use the Scandinavian full-scribe method that emphasizes the characteristics of each log by carving out the contours of the bottom log. Both the full length log and the short log post and beam systems use this centuries-old method.
Quality construction:
Each individually selected tree is hand peeled and air dried. A careful scribe and cut ensures that each log will fit tightly. Corners are saddle notched and a cut and spline are used around windows and doors for additional strength. Adequate space is left above windows and doors to allow settling and we pre-drill for wiring around walls and ceilings. Logs are one of the best natural insulators. Lateral groves are filled with fiberglass insulation.
